Overall Job Summary
This position is responsible for reviewing and driving technology plans to align with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes. This requires comprehensive knowledge in WebSphere commerce architectural approaches and solutions. Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring other team members, and leading projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
Stay up to date on emerging technologies and market trends within the retail space and make recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives.
Develop and maintain the technology roadmaps that drive innovation within the organization.
Translate business requirements into technical designs that ensure availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability. Work with business partners to ensure design meets desired outcomes.
Provide oversight for the development of prototypes and setting technology direction.
Define and promote processes, policies, standards, and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
Create deliverables that are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards, methodologies, and best practices.
Develop and maintain artifacts in the Architecture Library.
Govern the introduction of new technologies.
Review, align, and drive technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 10 years of enterprise experience in selected technology field. Experience in design and implementation of market leading packages in several functional areas including Commerce, Search, Content Management, Merchandising, Order Management, Product Information Management, and Digital Asset Management. Experience with web information architecture, including REST architectural principles. Experience working with and leading Agile development teams. Retail experience is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: Technical certification in related field is preferred.

Superior ability to determine architectural approaches and solutions, conduct business reviews, document current systems, and develop recommendations of how to proceed with applications.

Superior ability to coordinate globally dispersed development, quality assurance, deployment, and reuse.
Superior ability to prepare and maintain documents that include architecture diagrams, data models, and navigation maps.
Superior ability to utilize deep understanding of one or more e-commerce solutions to make appropriate decisions, preferably IBM WebSphere Commerce, Interwoven/Open Deploy.
Superior ability to extend the conceptual design of the overall solution by developing the process, data, and application integration components into a functional design.
Superior ability to work with the business analyst and architects to create a high-level design of an end-to-end integration solution by defining the flow of data between the applications that must be integrated and by mapping business process activities to the applications that support them.
Superior ability to validate that the integration functional designs meet the overall business process integration requirements and are consistent with the conceptual design.

Superior ability to establish and maintain contacts with internal and external stakeholders, to provide information, garner acceptance and support of the project, and ensure that the project meets the business needs.

Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization in order to deliver high quality work products on time and with minimal direction.
Ability to develop new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.
