Sr Director, Omni Merchandising & Business Operations

Overall Job Summary

Location: Nashville, TN

Hybrid: Defined as on-site 3 days/weekly

This Senior Director, Omni Merchandising & Business Operations is responsible for the strategic and operational components of the eCommerce day to day business. The position will lead several important teams in the eCommerce business:

  • Merchandising Strategy & Analytics – Conducting analytics and building new merchandising strategies to guide the merchandising team in areas such as assortment, pricing, cost, and inventory management. This also includes the development of business intelligence reporting to guide merchant decision making.

  • Site Merchandising – Leveraging site functionality to deploy merchandising strategies and optimize business performance, including taxonomy/navigation, site search, landing pages, product content, product reviews, product recommendations, etc.

  • Business Program Management – Development of new and optimization of ongoing business programs to drive top line revenue. Programs include things like consumer financing, extended warranties, returns, subscriptions, etc.

  • Fulfillment and Drop Shipping – Management and continued evolution of the end to end fulfillment of online orders to continuously provide competitive customer offerings at lower costs, including partnership with internal teams and third parties. Fulfillment options currently include buy online pickup in store, but online fulfill from store, ship from DC, drop ship vendors, LTL shipments, and more.

  • Digital Growth – responsible for all traffic and digital marketing metrics in partnership with marketing organization to optimize all paid, owned, and earned media drives eCommerce growth and conversion.

This role is a key member of the senior leadership team for the digital business unit and will also participate in long term strategic planning and resourcing decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Responsible for analytical analysis, development of strategic options, testing, and ultimately influencing eComm and business leadership on important strategic decisions.

  • Responsible for the development of business intelligence reporting and analytics to understand business performance, uncover root causes, and provide visibility to leadership to drive results.

  • Responsible for the development of processes, reporting, and management of team members to build new and optimize existing programs/site capabilities to drive revenue and reduce costs.

  • Works with business partners and other stakeholders to prioritize information/reporting needs and prioritizes activities for direct reports.

  • Responsible for creating a culture of continuous improvement, using lessons learned and feedback from business partners to modify and improve all existing processes and creating new processes/best practices as well as sponsoring a prioritized list of needed IT enhancements based on the needs of their team

  • Responsible for management of the eCommerce/MDM P&L, tracking all operating and capital expenses to ensure targets are met.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 12+ years’ experience in a retail environment, with minimum of 4 years in merchandising or site operations. Minimum 5 years Management / Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership experience. Preferred experience in both eCommerce and B&M retail.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in a related field (Finance, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or Industrial Engineering) from an accredited college or university is required.
